Description

Sammon Contracting commenced work on a primary care facility in Newbridge on 6th January 2012. The primary care facility development is a public / private venture between Clarington Primary Care, Centric Health, Kildare VEC and the HSE.
The campus will include the primary care facility itself, offices and training rooms for Kildare VEC and a 900 sq meter gymnasium and sports hall.

The three storey, primary care facility will extend over 34,000 sq ft (3,200 sq meters approximately) and will incorporate several medical consulting and treatment rooms, dental treatment rooms, an occupational assessment room, a pharmacy, speech and language therapy rooms, a physiotherapy gymnasium, children’s health rooms and a café. The third floor will be a purpose built further education facility for the VEC. A separate sports hall and gymnasium will be constructed on the site.

Mount Hybla, Nursing Home

Description

Sammon Contracting started work on a nursing home in Dublin. The project (Mount Hybla) will be an elderly care centre with 60 rooms and located at the edge of Phoenix Park in Dublin. The nursing home will have all the amenities needed for elderly care, such as a number of lounges and dining rooms for the residents, as well as a medical suite, chapel, library, arts and crafts facilities, hairdressing and computer facilities.

Conroy Crowe Kelly Architects (CCK) are involved as the Architects and Brendan Merry & Partners are the Quantity Surveyors.

Magic Planet, Fujairah City Centre

Description

Sammon Contracting in Abu Dhabi commenced the interior fit-out of the 1,150 sqm Magic Planet in Fujairah City Centre for Majid Al Futtaim Ventures. Fujairah City Centre is on track to open in early 2012.

The works include the design and co-ordination of the construction details in association with the Design Team.
Part of the project will be building / specialist fit-out works (demolition, construction, joinery, wet trades, metal works, signage works), MEP installation (electrical supply, small power works, lighting, firefighting, fire alarm and HVAC works) and design and build of the CCTV camera system complete in line with local authority regulations.

Coliaste na hInse School, Laytown

Description

This 8,109 sqm design & build post-primary school together with a 523 sqm special needs unit will provide 1,000 student places when completed.
The project is arranged around a central courtyard and the largely 2 storey school includes sports facilities, teaching blocks, IT facilities and a double-height general purpose hall. The project, won at competitive tender, is arranged around a central courtyard works include all site infrastructure, water treatment plant, landscaping, access road, and car park.

This project is due for completion in August 2012.

Loreto College Foxrock

Description

Sammon Contracting started working on the extension to the existing secondary school building for Loreto College in Foxrock. This Catholic school will get a 2 storey extension that on completion in August 2012 will cater for circa 700 students.
The extension, which is designed by Conroy Crowe Kelly Architects & Urban Designers, will provide a new image for the school. The works comprise a 2-storey linear building which is naturally lit by 3-sided courtyards and roof lights, and provides a new reception/ administration block to the front from which the primary circulation street leads to the classrooms and other accommodation.
