Miceál is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sammon Group. As an international entrepreneur, he has created a dynamic and innovative culture within the Group, which has business interests across three continents, whilst preserving the core family business values on which the company was founded.
Miceál is responsible for corporate strategy, long-term planning and setting the direction of the company’s culture, management practices and innovation.With more than 20 years of experience, he has a deep understanding of construction in social infrastructure markets and is highly regarded by international education experts as being one of the leading visionaries in the delivery of innovative education infrastructure.
Cathy is Co-founder and an Executive Director of the Sammon Group. Cathy has over 20 years international business experience in construction, tourism, hospitality and entertainment sectors.Cathy represents the family shareholding on the board and sits on the investment and strategy committees.
Her involvement in the strategy team has brought a measured perspective to the growth and direction of the Group over the last number of years.
Brian Flannery-MBS (Acc.), FCA, Dip. IFRS
Chief Financial Officer
Brian is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience working in both practice and industry and joined Sammon in 2015. He most recently worked for building products manufacturer, Kingspan Group plc for 9 years initially as part of the Mergers & Acquisitions team and latterly as a Finance Director. Prior to working in industry he also worked for accounting firms Deloitte, PwC and Grant Thornton. Brian is responsible for all aspects of the Finance function including HR & IT and is Company Secretary to the Board of Directors.
Michael joined the Sammon Group in the role of Contracts Director, with responsibility for winning and delivery on Public Private Partnership projects.
With over 30 years experience as Director and Managing Director of one of Ireland’s largest Construction Companies, he has a proven track record in growing business and opening up new market opportunities. He is highly regarded by the top Design Team professionals and clients.
He is a very good communicator and co-ordinator and has successfully managed the procurement and project delivery of many of Ireland’s most notable Public Private Partnerships, Civic, Educational, Healthcare and Commercial Buildings.
Shane Brady – B.Sc. (Surv.), Dip. Proj. Man., Dip. Con. Law
Shane joined the Sammon Group in April 2016 as Managing Quantity Surveyor, before moving to his current role of Commercial Director. He manages all commercial aspects on all our projects. Shane has over seven years’ previous experience in commercial management with a comprehensive service provider working in the signalling, telecommunications, electrical and civil engineering markets within the rail, metro, highways and utilities sectors throughout the UK. He has also over ten years’ experience in legal management, procurement and quantity surveying for a main contracting building company in Ireland.
Ger Kiely – MSc, BSc, Dip Con, MSCSI, MRICS
Business Development Director
Ger joined the company in 2009, is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor by profession, has extensive experience in both public and private sector, and has recently completed a MSc in Business Management from Maynooth University in 2015. He will be responsible for our Business Development Division with particular focus on bid management and the development of new opportunities for our business.
Ger has amassed a wide-ranging knowledge in PQS Services, Estimating, Procurement, Project Surveying, Project Management and Commercial Management, ensuring the successful delivery of Design & Build, PPP, and traditionally procured projects.
Liam McGroary – BSc (HONS) Construction Economics, Dip Project Mgt
Liam has over 20 years experience within the Construction Industry and has recently joined the Sammon Group as our Construction Director. Liam has extensive experience in residential development both in Ireland and the UK.
He will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of our SB5 projects, involving the construction of 6 schools in Wexford, Bray Kells and Carlow. These projects extend to 44,600sqm and will accommodate circa 5000 pupils when complete.
