Joinery Contract Awarded To Miceál Sammon Woodcraft
Miceál Sammon Woodcraft was recently awarded a contract to provide fitted furniture for the new convent and care home for ‘The Little Sisters of the Poor’ in Ferrybank, Ireland. The new building will house 70 to 80 senior members of the community in a very modern facility on a site close to the Abbey School in Ferrybank.
The joinery contract that has been awarded is to provide fitted furniture which includes: wardrobes, reception desk, nurse station, bedside lockets and chest of drawers, kitchen and shelving units.
The new facility will consist of residential apartments for single people or couples, en-suite care rooms and accommodation for the community of Little Sisters. In addition, it will contain lounges, dining rooms, as well as a medical suite, chapel, library hairdressing and computer facilities. The building work of the new home is expected to take 18 months.
The Woodcraft division started the contract on 1 December 2009 for a project duration of 16 weeks. The project is being led by Pat Birmingham and architects for the new facility are CJ Falconer & Associates.
