Irish Ambassador and Irish Minister visit Dubai office
Mr. Billy Kelleher T.D., Irish Minister of State with special responsibility for Trade and Commerce, paid a visit to the Dubai office of the Sammon Group on Tuesday 17 November as part of an Enterprise Ireland Trade Mission to the UAE.
Minister Kelleher, accompanied by H.E. Ciáran Madden, Irish Ambassador to the UAE, was received by Miceál Sammon. The visiting delegation further comprised of Ms. Dympna Hayes, Director Bilateral Trade Promotion Section Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment, Mr. John McNamara, Director for Southern Europe, Africa & Latin America, Enterprise Ireland, Mr. Liam O’Donohoe, Head of Construction & Consumer, Enterprise Ireland and Mr. Jim Mongey, Regional Manager Middle East & North Africa, Enterprise Ireland.
Miceál Sammon stressed the importance of the Trade Mission, saying “We are extremely pleased with the presence of the Irish Minister in our office today and the continued support and assistance of Enterprise Ireland”. Mr. Sammon continued: “This is the perfect time to establish and build connections and explore possible business opportunities that will enhance trade between the UAE and Ireland. The recent opening of the Irish Embassy will no doubt be of fundamental importance in assisting Irish businesses operating in the region”.
Miceál Sammon also confirmed Sammon Group’s continued commitment to the region through the recent establishment of a dedicated office in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.
The visit concluded with Minister Kelleher’s formal presentation of the worldwide accredited ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Certificates, which the Sammon Group was awarded in respect of its operations in the UAE.
