Abu Dhabi West Project Completes 2 Million Hours Without LTI
Sammon Contracting achieved another milestone on the delivery of Phase 1 of the Abu Dhabi Future School Program by completing more than 2 million hours without Lost-Time-Injury at the Abu Dhabi West school which is currently in its completion stage.
The impressive track record was announced on 17th September by Siby Chacko, Senior HSE Coordinator for Abu Dhabi West project. This is the first of the 5 schools to achieve 2 million hours without LTI status and the other projects which form part of Phase 1 of the ADEC's Future School Building Program, located in Al Khatem, Al Khazna, Al Towaya and Al Jahly, are set to follow shortly.
Being an international contractor certified to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007, this significant accomplishment demonstrates Sammon's strategic commitment to the highest standards of Health and Safety management and the desire to create a safer working environment for employees, sub-contractors and suppliers.
"We are extremely proud to have completed 2 million man-hours without LTI as this is a major accomplishment for any construction project of this scale," said Conor Lee, Project Manager for Abu Dhabi West school. "We strive to maintain a target zero LTI and this achievement is an acknowledgement that we are on the track."
